400GbE Network Emulation Press Release

Calnex announces worlds first 400GbE network emulator, Calnex SNE-X, a test solution for high-performance computing environments.   EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND, June 4, 2024 – Calnex Solutions today announces the SNE-X with 400GbE interfaces, the first network emulator of its kind. The SNE-X 400G enables the testing of AI infrastructure and other high-performance computing networks. The high cost of InfiniBand deployments has led to the rise of Ultra Ethernet to help drive down the cost of AI. However, Ethernet’s inherent characteristics are hindering maximum performance. AI and machine learning workloads demand high performance infrastructure that is not only fast but also reliable. Due to the unique requirements of AI workloads, one small path in the network can significantly impact the performance of the entire job completion time.      To address this and ensure optimal AI infrastructure performance, sophisticated testing and emulation is required. This identifies and addresses potential network congestion and failures and provides insight to those deploying infrastructure into how to optimise it for high-performance in areas such as enabling faster job completion time.    The Calnex SNE-X 400G, provides testing and emulation capability, delivering the first high-performance controllable and repeatable emulation solution for AI infrastructure. “Working with AI infrastructure providers we recognise the challenges they are facing when it comes to network performance due to congestion and impairments such as latency, packet loss and re-order. The SNE-X provides a high-performance 400GbE testing environment enabling our customers to gain insight into how to address their network challenges and helping to find efficiency gains which are critical to ensure optimal AI infrastructure performance.” – Adam Paterson, Head of Product Management at Calnex Solutions.
