What did you study and where?
I studied Computer Science and Engineering in the International Hellenic University which is based in Thessaloniki, Greece.
What initially attracted you to the Graduate role at Calnex?
The graduate role at Calnex seemed like a great opportunity for me to start my career, as it felt like a friendly and approachable environment in which I could develop both personally and professionally.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
You will not find a Software Engineering job that is easy to deal with, but the environment at Calnex really eases off the stress associated with it. Even though it is a fast-paced environment and you have to comply with deadlines, people are always friendly and willing to offer a helping hand if you just ask for it!
Most challenging aspects of your job?
My role involves dealing with multiple technologies and hundreds of lines of code in various programming languages. Thankfully, that keeps me motivated and makes things interesting as there is always something new to learn.
What advice would you give to anyone considering a Graduate role at Calnex?
I would say just go for it! It might seem challenging and a big step when getting out of university, but it will definitely pay off in the future.
Tell us something that surprised you about Calnex when you came?
I was surprised by by the support that is given to every single member of the group. Even though I come from abroad, I never felt as an outsider and I always felt welcomed and appreciated by the rest of the team.

I relocated to Scotland from Greece and despite the fact that the process itself can be quite intimidating, the members of the team made it very straightforward for me. Even though the whole process took roughly three months, the team was extremely supportive and never lost contact with me, which was really reassuring at such a stressful time.
