What did you study and where?
I’ve completed my Bachelors’ degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bengaluru, India, and my MSc in Computer Science from the University of Edinburgh.
What initially attracted you to the Graduate role at Calnex?
What initially attracted me to Calnex was the opportunity to learn and grow in a highly technical engineering environment. I was looking for a role where I could build on my software background, receive good guidance, and work on real products. The Graduate role at Calnex felt like a great opportunity to start this next stage of my career in a supportive place.
Tell us any highlights you have experienced since starting with Calnex.
One of the main highlights for me has been getting the opportunity to work on Paragon Neo and learn from experienced engineers around me. It has been rewarding to contribute to real product work, understand more about embedded software, and gradually build confidence in a new technical area. I have also really appreciated how welcoming and helpful everyone has been since I joined.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
What I enjoy most is that I get to learn something new almost every day. The work involves problem-solving, debugging, and understanding how different parts of the product work together. It is a good feeling when I am able to understand an issue better, contribute to a fix, or learn something that helps me improve as an engineer.
Most challenging aspects of your job?
The most challenging part has been getting familiar with the depth of the product and the size of the codebase. There are many new concepts to understand, and it can feel complex at times. However, this has also been one of the best learning experiences for me, and I have always felt comfortable asking questions and getting support from the team.
What advice would you give to anyone considering a Graduate role at Calnex?
My advice would be to be curious, ask questions, and not put too much pressure on yourself to know everything from the beginning. There is a lot to learn, but people are very supportive and willing to help. If you enjoy learning, solving problems, and growing step by step, the Graduate role at Calnex is a really good opportunity.
Tell us something that surprised you about Calnex when you came?
What surprised me most was how approachable and kind everyone is. Even though the products are technically complex, people are always happy to explain things, share their knowledge, and help when needed. That really helped me settle in.
“I have been working at Calnex for three years and one of the reasons I joined is the potential to be part of a small company growing to be a big global company.”
