What did you study and where?
I studied at the University of Nottingham, where I completed an MSc in Computer Science.
What initially attracted you to the Graduate role at Calnex?
I was drawn to the wide variety of cutting-edge products Calnex develops. The opportunity to be part of the team behind them was genuinely exciting.
Tell us any highlights you have experienced since starting with Calnex.
My probation task stands out as a real highlight. It was thoughtfully designed to help me get familiar with the embedded code inside Paragon Neo — engaging, enjoyable, and a great way to build up my knowledge quickly.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The people. The team at Calnex are some of the best I’ve ever worked with. As a graduate, I had a lot to learn, and everyone has been generous with their time, guidance, and support. It’s made the experience really rewarding so far.
Most challenging aspects of your job?
Keeping pace with such a talented team. Calnex is full of brilliant people, so staying focused and meeting that standard can be demanding. That said, the supportive culture makes it far less daunting than it sounds — there’s always someone willing to help.
What advice would you give to anyone considering a Graduate role at Calnex?
Be confident, do your research on the company and the role, practise with a few mock interviews, and don’t forget to smile.
If you relocated to join Calnex, how did you find the process?
The process was very smooth. Calnex provided all the support I needed for the move, and it honestly couldn’t have been easier.
Tell us something that surprised you about Calnex when you came?
The people and the culture. I felt genuinely welcomed from day one, even as a graduate. This is my first job so I don’t have much to compare it to, but it’s a really positive environment to work in.
Have you participated in any of the volunteering activities hosted by Calnex? If so, how have you enjoyed them?
Yes, I’ve taken part in two volunteering activities and thoroughly enjoyed both. There’s something very fulfilling about giving back to the community, and it’s also a nice way to spend time with colleagues from other parts of the company that I wouldn’t usually cross paths with day to day.
“What I enjoy most is solving tricky problems. Because of the scale and complexity, the challenges feel genuinely interesting rather than repetitive.”
