Q: What did you study and where?
I have a degree in Electronics and Communications engineering from Bangalore Institute of Technology, India.
Q: How long have you worked at Calnex and what attracted you to join?
I joined Calnex earlier this year, so I’ve been here a little over 8 months now. Most of my experience has been in product development, and I was looking for a company with a strong product that I can contribute to as well as enhance my own technical expertise while working on it. Calnex seemed to fit those requirements perfectly, so it was an easy decision.
Q: What about Calnex helped solidify your decision to relocate and join the Calnex team in Linlithgow?
The interview process was smooth and quick, the product and the tech stack appealed to me, and all my interactions with Calnex were very pleasant. The team was also extremely supportive throughout the process of relocation and even beyond. These factors reaffirmed my decision to join Calnex.
Q: Are you enjoying Scotland and how are you adjusting to your new home?
I’ve loved my time here so far. Scotland is absolutely beautiful with its castles and mountains and history, and the people are very friendly. I was also pleasantly surprised to find many “Indian stores” around as well.

Q: What has been the most challenging aspect of your job?
I’d say understanding the telecommunications domain has been the most challenging aspect so far. I’ve worked in several domains before, but I’ve never required as much detail about the domain to do my job on a daily basis. That being said, there are various resources to learn about the domain, and everyone here has been extremely helpful whenever I’ve had questions.
Q: What advice would you give to anyone wanting to relocate to join Calnex?
Relocating to a new country/city is always difficult, but Calnex definitely helps with the transition. The company is relatively small yet has a strong product portfolio, the work is challenging and satisfying, the culture here is great, and Edinburgh is a great place to live.
