The presentation covers the evolution from traditional network emulation with fixed conditions to modern satellite communications requiring dynamic modeling of constantly changing network conditions in LEO constellations. The TINA project focused on creating a 3D NTN architectural model for 5G advanced and 6G validation across emergency services, mobility, and event support use cases.
The Seteria project specifically addressed next generation eCall systems, validating satellite communications for emergency vehicle services when terrestrial networks are unavailable. The speakers demonstrate how their network emulation technology can test applications on future networks that don’t exist today, moving from static modeling to dynamic, formula-based systems that can handle millisecond-level changes.
The presentation concludes with their ongoing work to generalize these capabilities for broader satellite constellation modeling and commercial applications.
